WHY SOME PEOPLE RESIST CHANGE

 We Fear The Unknown
“How do you know what is going to happen tomorrow? For the length of your lives is as uncertain as the morning fog—now you see it; soon it is gone.” - James 4:14

 We Fear Loss
We fear we will lose something because of change.
“But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.”
- Philippians 3:7-8

 We Fear Failure
“If you fail under pressure, your strength is not very great.”

MOVING FORWARD IN LIFE

1. Look Towards The Future
“For he (Abraham) was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.”
- Hebrews 11:10
“We are saved by trusting. And trusting means looking forward to getting something we don’t yet have—for a man who already has something doesn’t need to hope and trust that he will get it.” - Romans 8:24

2. Lay Down The Past
“No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.”

“By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice.” - Hebrews 11:17

3. Live By Faith
“By faith Abraham … obeyed and went … By faith he made his home … By faith Abraham … become a father … By faith Abraham … offered Isaac” - Hebrews 11:8,9,11,17

4. Long For Something Better
“Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.”
