HOW TO BEGIN AGAIN IN THIS NEW YEAR

1. Believe that God is Good

Luke 15:17 - When he came to his senses, he said, “How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!”

Psalm 136:1 - Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

2. Know That God Sees You As His Child

Luke 15:18 - I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. * Make me like one of your hired servants.”’

3. Use Your Failure As Fertilizer

Luke 15:20 - “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. [21] And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

Psalm 119:71 - My troubles turned out all for the best— they forced me to learn from your textbook. (MSG)

4. Begin Again With God’s Help

1 John 1:8 - If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
