WHY ARE FRIENDSHIPS DECLINING?

* Increasing Work Hours

* Rising Divorce Rates

* Explosion Of Social Media

LEARNING TO BE A GOOD FRIEND

1. Good Friends Are Present 

Hebrews 10:24-25 - Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

2. Good Friends Are Vulnerable 

James 5:16 - Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

3. Good Friends Are Trusted 

Proverbs 27:5-6 - Better is open rebuke than hidden love. Faithful are the Wounds of a friend can be trusted, an enemy multiplies kisses.

FRIENDS MATTER

1 Samuel 18:1-4 - After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself... And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt.

1. Friends Love Friends Selflessly

2. Friends Invest In Friends Futures

3. Friends Lay Down Their Lives For Friends 

1 Samuel 19:5 - Have you forgotten about the time he risked his life to kill the Philistine giant and how the Lord brought a great victory to all Israel as a result? John 15:13 - Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
