8.2.15 // Strength Through Rest

Genesis 2:2 - And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. [3] Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

Exodus 20:8 - “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. [9] Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work.

FINDING REST IN THE MIDST OF STRESS

Matthew 11:28 – “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For My yoke is easy and My burden 

1. Come To Christ

Matthew 11:28 – “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

2. Leave the Rest To God 

Matthew 11:29 -  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

3. Learn Rest From Jesus

Matthew 11:29 - Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Mark 6:31 -  Then Jesus said, "Let’s get away from the crowds for a while and rest." There were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.
