LOVE LIKE JESUS

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” - John 14:34

 

A lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” - Luke 10:25

 

And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” – Luke 10:27

 

LOVING LIKE JESUS IS …

 

1. Unconditional Love Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. 32 So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. - Luke 10:31-33 “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.” - Luke 6:27-28 ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

 

2. Purposeful Love He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. - Luke 10:34 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. - John 3:16-17 ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

 

3. Merciful Love Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?” 37 He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.” – Luke 10:36-37 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.
