1. What Jesus Did For The Woman
John 8:1 – “Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives, [2] but early the next morning He was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and He sat down and taught them.
John 8:3 - As He was speaking, the teachers of religious law and Pharisees brought a woman they had caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.
John 8:4 - ‘Teacher,’ they said to Jesus, ‘this woman was caught in the very act of adultery.’ [5] The law of Moses says to stone her. What do You say?’ [6] They were trying to trap Him into saying something they could use against Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with His finger.
John 8:7 - They kept demanding an answer, so He stood up again and said, ‘All right, stone her. But let those who have never sinned throw the first stones!’
John 8:8 - Then He stooped down again and wrote in the dust.
John 8:9 - When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman.
John 8:10 - Then Jesus stood up again and said to her, ‘Woman, where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?’
John 8:11 - She answered, ‘No one, sir.’ Then Jesus said, ‘I also don’t judge you guilty. Go and sin no more.’”
2. What Jesus Would Do For Us
- Replace your GUILT with Grace (Daily)
Romans 6:14 - Sin is no longer your master, for you are no longer subject to the law, which enslaves you to sin. Instead, you are free by God's grace.
- Replace your SHAME with Salvation (Eternally)
Ephesians 1:5 - His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave Him great pleasure.
Romans 5:11 - So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
3. What We Could Do For Jesus
We Should All Pursue Jesus
Philippians 3:14 - I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
1 Corinthians 2:9 - No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. [17] God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.
Romans 8:1 - So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

Mark 4:36 - Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.
1. Jesus is the model – Work Hard Rest Hard
Mark 4:35 - On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”
2. Sometimes the turmoil – is not your fault
Mark 4:37 - And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.
3. When the storm gets too strong – sometimes we panic
Mark 4:38 - But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”.
Matthew 8:25 - Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
4. Regardless of the circumstances – Jesus is in control
Mark 4:39 - Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
5. Jesus being Jesus – Why do we marvel?
Luke 8:25 - But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!”

WE WILL SEE CLEARLY WHEN …
1. We Let Go Of Our Limiting Beliefs
Mark 8:22 - Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him. [23] So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything.
Mark 8:24 - And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.”
Mark 8:25 - Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly. 26 Then He sent him away to his house, saying, “Neither go into the town, nor tell anyone in the town.”
Matthew 11:21- “Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.”
2. We Let Go Of Other’s Limiting Beliefs
Mark 10:47 - When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus of Nazareth was nearby, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Mark 10:48 - Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Mark 10:52 - And Jesus said to him, “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road.
3. We See Things By The Light of The World
John 9:5 - “I am the light of the world.”
John 9:11 - He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.”
Matthew 5:14 - “You are the light of the world.”

John 5:1 - After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
1. Stop Waiting Because Jesus Is Here
John 5:2 - Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.
John 5:5 - Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.
2. Know What You Want
John 5:6 - When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”
John 5: 7 - The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”
3. Wake Up! Stand Up! And Walk!
John 5:8 - Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.
4. Find A Relationship Over A Religion
John 5:9 - And that day was the Sabbath. 10 The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.”
John 5:14 - Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”

John 2:1 - On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
John 2:2 - Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.
John 2:3 - And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”
LESSONS FROM A PARTY WITH JESUS
1. Trust God When The Answer Is Wait
John 2:4 Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”
John 2:5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
2. Miracles Come Through Partnership
John 2:6 - Now there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons.
John 2:7 – Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
3. The Best Is Yet To Come
John 2:10 - “This is wonderful stuff!” he said. “You’re different from most. Usually a host uses the best wine first, and afterwards, when everyone is full and doesn’t care, then he brings out the less expensive brands. But you have kept the best for the last!”
4. Jesus Is Worth Believing In
John 2:11 - This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

ANGER MISMANAGEMENT
A Fishy Tale About Faith
Scott Young.com – Pastor of HOPE
James 1:19 - My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce therighteousness that God desires.
Ephesians 4:26 - “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold.
WE MISMANAGE OUR ANGER WHEN …
1. We Are Upset About Things We Cannot Control
Jonah 4:1 - This change of plans greatly upset Jonah, and he became very angry.
Jonah 3:10 - And when God saw that they had put a stop to their evil ways, he abandoned his plan to destroy them and didn’t carry it through.
Jonah 4:2 - He prayed to the Lord, “Come on, Lord! Wasn’t this precisely my point when I was back in my own land? This is why I fled to Tarshish earlier! I know that you are a merciful and compassionate God, very patient, full of faithful love, and willing not to destroy.
Jonah 4:3 - Therefore now, O Lord, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live!” 4 Then the Lord said, “Is it right for you to be angry?”
2. We Stay Angry With People God Has Forgiven
Jonah 4:5 - So Jonah went out of the city and sat on the east side of the city. There he made himself a shelter and sat under it in the shade, till he might see what would become of the city.
3. We Major On Minor Issues
Jonah 4:9 - Then God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?” And he said, “It is right for me to be angry, even to death!”
4. We Resolve Our Anger When We Realize How Much
People Matter To God
Jonah 4:10 - But the Lord said, “You have had pity on the plant for which you have not labored, nor made it grow, which came up in a night and perished in a night.
Jonah 4:11 - But Nineveh has more than 120,000 people living in spiritual darkness, not to mention all the animals. Shouldn’t I feel sorry for such a great city?”

GRACE
A Fishy Tale About Faith

Jonah 3:10 - When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them, and he did not do it. (ESV)
GRACE
1. Clinging to Worthless Idols forfeits God’s Grace
Jonah 3:5 - And the people of Nineveh believed God. They called for a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them to the least of them.
2. The Essence of the Gospel is Grace
Col. 1:6 - In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace.
3. How do we Receive Grace? Grace becomes ours when we understand it.
Remember what Paul said in Colossians 1:6 “On the day you understood grace”
Jonah 3:10 - When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God relented of the disaster that he had said he would do to them, and he did not do it.
4. How do you Know you have Received the Grace of God in your life?
• Externally you loose all bigotry about mixed up people and you call all to His grace
• Internally, you receive Grace, Mercy, Forgiveness, Joy, and Freedom

PRAYING IN THE DARK
A Fishy Tale About Faith
Scott Young.com – Pastor of HOPE
Jonah 2:1 - From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God.
PRAYING FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT
1. Recognize You Need Help
Jonah 2:2 - “In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry.”
2. Know Why You Are There
Jonah 2:3 - You hurled me into the depths, into the very heart of the seas, and the currents swirled about me; all your waves and breakers swept over me.
3. Look To God
Jonah 2:4 - I said, “I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple”.
4. Pray Words Of Faith
Jonah 2:6 - To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, Lord my God, brought my life up from the pit.
5. Return To The Way
Jonah 2:9 - But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, “Salvation comes from the Lord”.

Running from God – Jonah 1
Pastor Peter Young
Jonah 1:3 - But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.
The Running Game …
1. Why do we run
Fear - I don’t have the goods
Anger - God can’t ask ME to do this
Resentment - THEY don’t deserve…
Jonah 1:2 - “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before me.”
2. How do we run
Isolation: Withdraw – “hole up”
Debate: Confront and challenge/argue
Turn It Up: Drown out the call
Literally… Running away
Jonah 1:1-3 - Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it…” But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish...
3. What happens when we run
Endanger:
Others
Ourselves
Jonah 1:4 - But the Lord sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up.
Delay:
God’s plans
Our success
Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
4. The answer to running
S.T.O.P.
S: STOP
T: THINK
O: OPEN YOUR HEART
P: PRAY
Psalm 139:7 (read through 12) Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your Presence?
Psalm 46:10 - Be still, and know that I am God.
