Exodus 15:26 - He said, "If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you."

And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, [17] that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses.” [Quoting Isaiah 53]
1 Peter 2:24 - Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed.

GIDEON: LITTLE IS MUCH
Extra-Ordinary
Scott Young.com – Pastor of HOPE
Hebrews 11:32 - How much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets.
1. Gideon Had Little Self Confidence
Judges 6:11 - Gideon son of Joash was threshing wheat at the bottom of a winepress to hide the grain from the Midianites. [12] The angel of the Lord appeared to him and said, “Mighty hero, the Lord is with you!”
Judges 6:15 - So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.”
2. Gideon Had Little Family Support
Judges 6:27 - So Gideon took ten men from among his servants and did as the Lord had said to him. But because he feared his father’s household and the men of the city too much to do it by day, he did it by night.
3. Gideon Had Little Faith
Judges 6:36 - So Gideon said to God, “If You will save Israel by my hand as You have said— [37] look, I shall put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor; if there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that You will save Israel by my hand, as You have said.”
Judges 6:39 - Then Gideon said to God, “Do not be angry with me, but let me speak just once more: Let me test, I pray, just once more with the fleece; let it now be dry only on the fleece, but on all the ground let there be dew.”
4. Gideon Had A Little Team
Judges 7:2 - The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many warriors with you. If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength. [3] Therefore, tell the people, ‘Whoever is timid or afraid may leave this mountain[a] and go home.’” So 22,000 of them went home, leaving only 10,000 who were willing to fight.
Judges 7:4 - But the Lord told Gideon, “There are still too many! Bring them down to the spring, and I will test them to determine who will go with you and who will not.”
5. Gideon Had A Little Plan
Judges 7:16 - He divided the 300 men into three groups and gave each man a ram’s horn and a clay jar with a torch in it.
Judges 7:20 - Then all three groups blew their horns and broke their jars. They held the blazing torches in their left hands and the horns in their right hands, and they all shouted, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!”
6. Gideon Had An Awesome Victory
Judges 8:28 - That is the story of how the people of Israel defeated Midian, which never recovered. Throughout the rest of Gideon’s lifetime—about forty years—there was peace in the land.

Hebrews 11:25 - He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin.
3. Faith Leaves The World Behind

John 15:19 - If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world.
4. Faith Trusts The Sacrifice
Hebrews 11:28 - By faith he kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.

Abraham - An Extra-Ordinary
Journey of Adventure and Patience
Sam Farina.com
Hebrews 11:8-10 - By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he went to live in a land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations whose designer and builder is God. (ESV)
Faith Always Brings Extra To The Ordinary
1. Faith Embraces Adventure
Genesis 12:5 - And Abram took Sarai, his wife and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions they had gathered, and the people that they had acquired in Haran, and they set out to go to the land of Canaan. (ESV)

From one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore. (RSV)
3. Faith Enjoys The Hope Of An Eternal City
Acts 7:3-5 - Abraham lived as a foreigner in a land where he had no rights of citizenship. Furthermore, he lived there with not so much as a square foot of land to his name.
Hebrews 11:13 - All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth Hebrews 13:14 - But we seek the city which is to come. (RSV)
4. Faith Escapes Death
Hebrews 11:17a,19 – By faith Abraham when he was tested, offered up Isaac... (19) He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead… (ESV)
Abraham is the embodiment of a person of faith (Gal 3:9) because he trusted God’s covenant promises (Gen 17), in the Gospel (Gal 3:8), in entering Heaven (Heb 11:10), in the child of promise (Heb11:11), and in the resurrection (Heb 11:19).

2. Our Faith Grows When We Let Go

STANDING WITH CONFIDENCE
ABC’s of Faith - Part 3
Pastor Holly Russo
Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith is ACTING on BELIEFS with CONFIDENCE!
Substance – “hupostasis”: (hypó, "under" hístēmi, "to stand") – properly, (to possess) standing under a guaranteed agreement ("title-deed"); (figuratively) "title" to a promise or property, i.e. a legitimate claim (because it literally is, "under a legal-standing") – entitling someone to what is guaranteed under the particular agreement. = CONFIDENCE
1. We Have Confidence In Understanding God’s Word
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. (Proverbs 25:2)
“King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” (Daniel 3:16-18)
2. We Have Confidence When We Are Prepared
Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. (Ephesians 6:13)
When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God. (Nehemiah 6:16)
3. We Have Confidence When Our Actions Seem Beyond Belief
Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: 'When you reach the edge of the Jordan's waters, go and stand in the river.'" (Joshua 3:8)
