Scott Young.com – Pastor of Hope
Judges 6:23 - Then the Lord said to him, “Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.” [24] So Gideon built an altar there to the Lord, and called it The-Lord-Is-Peace.
YOU NEED PEACE WHEN …
• You Are In Conflict
Judges 6:1 – Then once again the Israelites started disobeying the Lord, so he let the nation of Midian control Israel for seven years. (CEV)
• You Feel Insecure
Judges 6:12 - And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!”
• The Odds Are Against You
Judges 7:2 – The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men.” [4] But the Lord said to Gideon, “There are still too many men.” (NIV)
LIVING IN PEACE
1. Peace Can Be Learned
Matthew 11:28-30 – Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
2. Peace Overcomes Trouble
John 16:33 - I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
3. Peace Comes From Christ
John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Philippian’s 4:6 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. [7] And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

2. God Is THERE When You Are Hurting

“Hello My Name Is” – Part 4
Scott Young.com – Pastor of Hope
Genesis 22:14 - And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”
PRINCIPLES OF PROVISION
1. God Will Provide: When We Are Available
Genesis 22:1 – Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”
2. God Will Provide: When We Are Willing To Let Go
Genesis 22:2 – Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”
3. God Will Provide: When We Walk By Faith
Genesis 22:3 – So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey … [4] Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off. [5] And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.”
Hebrews 11:19 - Abraham believed that God could bring Isaac back from the dead. Abraham did receive Isaac back from the dead in a figurative sense. (GW)
2 Corinthians 5:7 – For we walk by faith, not by sight.
4. God Will Provide: When We Look To Jesus
Genesis 22:8 – And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together.
John 1:29 - The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
John 8:56 – [Jesus] Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad. (NLT)
