1. What Jesus Did For The Woman
John 8:1 – “Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives, but early the next morning He was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and He sat down and taught them.
John 8:3 - As He was speaking, the teachers of religious law and Pharisees brought a woman they had caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.
John 8:4 - ‘Teacher,’ they said to Jesus, ‘this woman was caught in the very act of adultery.’ The law of Moses says to stone her. What do You say?’ They were trying to trap Him into saying something they could use against Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with His finger.
John 8:7 - They kept demanding an answer, so He stood up again and said, ‘All right, stone her. But let those who have never sinned throw the first stones!’
John 8:8 - Then He stooped down again and wrote in the dust.
John 8:9 - When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman.
John 8:10 - Then Jesus stood up again and said to her, ‘Woman, where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?’
John 8:11 - She answered, ‘No one, sir.’ Then Jesus said, ‘I also don’t judge you guilty. Go and sin no more.’”
2. What Jesus Would Do For Us
- Replace your GUILT with Grace (Daily)
Romans 6:14 - Sin is no longer your master, for you are no longer subject to the law, which enslaves you to sin. Instead, you are free by God's grace.
- Replace your SHAME with Salvation (Eternally)
Ephesians 1:5 - His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave Him great pleasure.
Romans 5:11 - So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
3. What We Could Do For Jesus
We Should All Pursue Jesus
Philippians 3:14 - I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
1 Corinthians 2:9 - No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.
Romans 8:1 - So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
